Many of us dream of achieving success in life, but the path to success can be elusive. However, there is a small and rapid formula for
success in life that involves transforming what you love to do into an economically viable career. If you can do this, you are well on
your way to achieving your dreams.
Take the example of Bear Grylls, who turned his passion for walking in the forest into a successful career as a celebrity TV host. He is
now a household name and lacks nothing. The key to his success was that he pursued his passion with determination and turned it into
a profitable venture.
However, in densely populated countries like Bangladesh, people often lack the courage to pursue their dreams due to the typical
mindset of students. Most of the public university and national university students in Bangladesh prepare for BCS, which is a
government job. Where lakhs of students appear every year but very few people who are eligible only get a chance. But there are many
who participate in this test despite not wanting to. However, this narrow mindset often wastes a significant part of their career period,
and many students are left with frustrated lives due to a lack of experience.
Therefore, it is essential to broaden your horizons and explore different career options. Private university students in Bangladesh have
a higher success rate in starting their careers because they do more research on the job market and pursue potential sectors beyond
BCS.
I am not against BCS or government jobs at all, I just want to say that only those who are qualified and have strong desires should
prepare for it and the rest should choose the workplace based on their talents and abilities.
From the first year of university, one should acquire special skills in English and computer science and always prepare the necessary
documents for applying for a job. Starting from the second year, students should consider doing part-time jobs or internships to gain
work experience, which will help them in their future careers. Students should also create a well-crafted CV at the university level
itself, which can be useful for various purposes, including marriage and job applications.
Other things that students should consider doing in university life include earning money besides studying, reading various external
and institutional books, acquiring special technical education, and getting involved with voluntary organizations. Students can also
consider preparing for IELTS to study for masters abroad, which is highly recommended by academies as it provides a competitive
advantage in the job market.
In Bangladesh, the ICT or outsourcing sector, the garment sector, and the hotel management or tourism sector offer excellent job
opportunities, and the government provides special financial assistance and incentives to encourage entrepreneurship. By doing what
you love and pursuing your passions, you can achieve success in life.
In conclusion, transforming your passion into an economically viable career is a formula for success in life. Students should prepare
themselves for the job market from the university level itself, broaden their horizons and explore different career options, and pursue
their passions with determination. Success lies just beyond the horizon of hard work and dedication, waiting to be seized.
